Henry County Leadership strives to provide our communities with an enduring source of diverse leaders who are prepared and committed to serving their region.

As a skills-building program, Leadership Henry County aims to:
  • IDENTIFY

    Identify and motivate emerging community leaders;

  • EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

    Provide an educational experience with a strong emphasis on both leadership skills and community awareness;

  • APPLYING THEIR TALENTS

    Challenge participants to apply their talents within their community while providing an opportunity to become involved.

Henry County Leadership consists of nine 8-hour sessions dedicated to specific community topics including:
  • Education
  • Health Care & Social Services
  • Economic Development
  • Local Government, Crime and Safety
  • State Government
  • Arts, Culture & Tourism
  • Agriculture

Leadership Training

Thanks to the generous contribution of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach–Henry County, each session will include 3 hours of instructional service dedicated to leadership training. This leadership training will be taught by Iowa State University Extension personnel.
