The Mount Pleasant Chamber Alliance is hiring for the Director of Membership.

Position:              Director of Membership

Reports To:         Executive Vice President

Hours:                  40-hours per week

Function:             The Director of Membership is responsible for all aspects of member recruitment and retention, programming and event planning to improve the growth and development of our members.


Membership Growth & Retention

  • Recruit and retain members and investors in the Chamber
  • Visit members to get them connected with the organization
  • Compile all member recruitment materials
  • Lead yearly membership renewal process and annual invoicing
  • Maintain membership database
  • Create, review and mail out yearly Chamber membership directory
  • Schedule and coordinate all ribbon cuttings
  • Create and secure member sponsorship packages

Marketing and Communications

  • Maintain and update the Alliance Website
  • Produce and distribute What’s Up Weekly
  • Produce and distribute monthly newsletter
  • Maintain all social media accounts for the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism


  • Plan member networking events
  • Plan and manage all Chamber non-dues revenue events/fundraisers
  • Plan events to bring awareness to small business and manufacturing

Other Duties

  • Customer Service for answering phones and greeting visitors
  • Attend Alliance sponsored events and programs when needed
  • Complete other duties as assigned
