On the Thursday before Halloween, October 22nd, 2009, Main Street Mount Pleasant hosts the Trick or Treating in downtown Mount Pleasant.

Trick or Treating with our downtown merchants begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm. Family activities including pumpkin decorating, a hay maze, hayrack rides, a bouncy house, and live music are all a part of the fun. Don't forget to get your favorite ghost or goblin's picture taken at Henderson Photography during the event.

The following Saturday, October 24th,  get a bowl of spicy chili at Main Street's Annual Chili Challenge at the Wright Family Food Pavilion in McMillan Park.  The Chili Challenge attracts dozens of amateur chefs from all over the area, competing for first place in one of the following categories: Firehouse Award(hottest chili), Not Yo' Mama's Chili (most unique), Best Theme, and People's Choice Award.  We have also added a Professional Category for chefs and restaurant teams. After enjoying your chili, hop a ride on the Haunted Rails or visit the Thrashers House of Terror if you dare!
