Communication
Getting current and reliable information about the Mount Pleasant area is vital to our businesses. The Chamber's What's Up Weekly e-publication and monthly Newsline publications help our Members stay in touch with business opportunities and community issues.
Promotion
The MPACC is your biggest promoter! Take advantage of free programs including Alive after Five, office referrals, printed and online directories, ribbon cuttings and ground breakings, Get On the Web, Annual Banquet Booths, Rock Around the Block fliers, Craft Show vendor packs, and our relocation packs. Sponsorships for a wide variety of publications and events are also available.
Networking
Meeting potential customers is critical to our Members, which is why we offer a variety of networking opportunities including our monthly Alive After Five and Annual Golf Outing.
Assistance
Our in-house Director of Entrepreneurial Support provides one-on-one assistance to our Members, helping them with everything from business planning to grant writing.
Training
Local and regional workshops on everything from human resource management to quality customer service are organized for our Members. The Chamber also sponsors the southeast Iowa LEAD Institute with Iowa Wesleyan College.
Advocacy
The viewpoint of the business community is heard loud and clear at both the local, state, and national level thanks to the Chamber's active Government Affairs Committee. The group creates an annual legislative priority list and promotes the priorities through monthly legislative briefings and annual trips to Des Moines and Washington D.C.
Community Development
The Chamber is dedicated to building tourism traffic and recruiting and retaining professionals in our community through projects including recreation trail development and downtown renovation. We also plan a variety of annual events including Rock Around the Block and Crafts in the Park.
Workforce Retention
The recruitment and retention of young professionals is critical to the success of our Members. Access Mount Pleasant (AMP), the Chamber's Young Professionals organization, supports the social and educational needs of this important group.
